Soul Food Gospel Radio Receives Three GX Awards 2026 Nominations
Soul Food Gospel Radio is pleased to announce three nominations at the GX Awards 2026, recognising excellence in Christian broadcasting and media.
The nominations acknowledge the work of the station, its presenters and original programming, and reflect over a decade of serving audiences through gospel music, inspirational content and community-focused broadcasting.
The 9th Annual GX Awards will take place on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the historic Birmingham Town Hall.
Outstanding Radio Station (UK)
Since its launch in 2013, Soul Food Gospel Radio has remained committed to providing quality Christian programming while supporting established and emerging gospel artists from the UK and beyond.
The station continues to expand its reach through music, interviews, teaching programmes and specialist shows, with the aim of encouraging, informing and inspiring listeners around the world.
Being shortlisted in the Outstanding Radio Station (UK) category is an honour and a reflection of the commitment shown by every presenter, volunteer and contributor who has helped shape the station over the years.

Soul Food Gospel Receives Four Prayze Factor Awards Semi-Final Nominations
After more than a decade of broadcasting, conversations, music, and ministry, Soul Food Gospel Radio and DJ Val have received four semi-final nominations at the Prayze Factor Awards Season 19.

A Tribute to Dr. Ron Kenoly
The Voice That Led a Generation into God’s Presence
Some worship leaders sing songs. Ron Kenoly led movements.
For decades, his voice became a global call to praise—filling churches, stadiums, and homes with joyful, scripture-rich worship that lifted hearts toward God. Long before worship albums became mainstream, his live recordings helped make corporate praise a shared worldwide experience.
A Sound That Shifted Atmospheres
Ron Kenoly’s ministry was marked by bold, joyful worship and a clear commitment to songs that pointed people to Jesus rather than to performance. His music carried a consistent emphasis on gratitude, celebration, and faith—worship that encouraged believers to lift their eyes from their circumstances to the greatness of God.
Songs such as “Lift Him Up,” “Ancient of Days,” and “Jesus Is Alive” did more than fill a setlist. They became part of the worship language of the global Church.
Opinion: Few worship leaders have shaped modern praise culture as deeply and consistently as Ron Kenoly. His influence is foundational for many worship leaders who followed.

Now in its Fifth year, StepFWD Awards is the only “Dove meets Stellar’ style dedicated CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) and Gospel awards ceremony in the UK, inspired by the call for unity in Romans 12:10: “Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour.”
‘For HIS Glory’
The introduction of a grand new theme: “For HIS Glory” is a stark reminder that ALL creative talents in their unique expressions ultimately bring glory to our Creator. Perhaps the most humbling, grounding and unifying realisation comes from the acknowledgement that not one thing would come to pass if it weren’t for the grace of God.

The fifth annual StepFWD Awards, the UK’s definitive “Best of British” Christian music awards ceremony, is taking place on Saturday 22nd November, at new venue Hackney Church, also home to SAINT Church. Doors open at 6 PM, red carpet from 5 PM.
With a central venue known for live music performances and events, there is less seating capacity than previously so reserve your tickets early to avoid disappointment!

SOTY - Song of the Year (11)
Over 130 songs released between July 2024 - July 2025 that topped the monthly UK Christian Charts curated by AStepFWD were nominated as potential winners of Song of the Year. Why so many potential winners? The hits are categorised by genre, such as Contemporary Worship, Gospel, RnB, Rap, Afrobeat, Pop, Dance, Rock/Alt, Reggae, Chillhop/LoFi and Indie/Folk/Acoustic. Sadly there were not enough poetry/spoken word entries this year.
The SOTY nominees were published for audience vote during October and reached a record breaking 4,989 votes!
Artists such as Marizu, Sondae, Evans Ogboi and Still Shadey have several entries increasing their chances. Past SOTY winners include songs such as Martin Smith’s “Garment of Praise”, Annatoria’s “Stay With Me”, LZ7 “Back In Time” and KXC “Pull Me Through”.

Now in its eleventh year, AStepFWD runs the monthly UK Christian Charts and has one of the biggest Christian music databases in the UK across all genres and musical styles. AStepFWD is also at the heart of national events such as iMPACT Conference empowering Christian creatives, and UGCY (University Gospel Choir of the Year). A key aim of AStepFWD is to engage, support and empower creatives across genre, age and location.
